Career Camp is a free, inclusive summer program designed to help teens and young adults with disabilities explore career options, build workplace skills, and gain confidence. It’s open to students aged 14–22 who are enrolled in school and eligible for Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services.

Campers participate in hands-on job exploration, workplace readiness training, self-advocacy lessons, and mock interviews. Sessions are interactive, fun, and focused on building real-world skills that lead to future success.

Career Camp is open to students ages 14–22 with a documented disability who are enrolled in school and meet the eligibility criteria for Florida’s Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services.

VR is a program funded by the State of Florida that helps individuals with disabilities prepare for and gain meaningful employment. Hope Haven partners with VR to offer Career Camp at no cost to families.

Students may qualify for VR if they have a documented disability (such as autism, learning disabilities, ADHD, physical impairments, etc.) that impacts their ability to work. If you're unsure, our team can help guide you through the application process.

Career Camp is free for eligible participants thanks to our partnership with Florida’s Vocational Rehabilitation program.

Career Camp takes place at Hope Haven’s campus at 4600 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207, during the spring, summer, and winter school breaks. Exact dates may vary year to year—check our website or contact us for current session info.

While this is not a job placement program, campers leave with a stronger understanding of career paths, improved confidence, and essential pre-employment skills. Some sessions may include guest speakers, business tours, or simulated work activities.

Our experienced team of educators, therapists, and support staff provides a safe, structured, and inclusive environment, with low camper-to-staff ratios. We meet students where they are—providing encouragement and strategies to help them succeed.
